CAD Outsourcing – Example of a CAD Outsourcing Project, London Map Digitization

Being an accomplished CAD Outsourcing Company an interesting CAD project which we would like to share with you all is the London map digitization project which SpanDigit undertook a few weeks ago. Below is a brief account of how we worked on it.

SpanDigit received printed booklet of the London Map from the authorities. We were asked to develop a digital copy of the map. Here, the input was printed map.

By taking reference of the printed map, detailed map of London was illustrated. Instead of digitizing, digital illustration was used. This technique enhanced the visibility, clarity of the map. Every small path was traced neatly. Prior route analysis maintained accuracy equivalent to input. Guidelines on the lines of hatching, symbols, and color codes during illustration led onto path of compliance. Major benefit of using illustration was that the map is now interactive and looks aesthetically attractive which can now be used for planning travel.

It was overall a successful task for both SpanDigit as well as the clients. This is just one of the many CAD Outsourcing Processes which we have and will continue to undertake.
